Kate has been instrumental in shaping the glamping and unique stays economy for many years, often behind the scenes, driving ideas, building connections, and helping countless businesses thrive. Now, she’s taking all of that knowledge, plus three more decades of experience in leisure and tourism, and turning it into something brand new: Creative Hosts. This isn’t just another business resource, it’s about developing experiential hospitality in that sweet spot where authenticity and connection meet commercial success, and giving hosts the tools to stand out, ride out market challenges, and grow stronger together. If you want to be among the pioneers on this adventure (and trust me, you’ll want to be), you won't want to miss this opportunity. Kate’s been a real force in pushing this industry forward, here's your chance to join her on the next step of the journey.
I started working with Kate 17 years ago when I joined my parents business, Quality Cottages as MD, and went on to work closely with her to develop Quality Unearthed, a market leading agency at the time. More recently, we’ve worked together again on TreeDwellers, a high-end treehouse hotel in the Cotswolds where her creative and practical input was invaluable. Kate has been at the forefront of alternative holiday experiences for many years now, and I can say without hesitation that her understanding of the elements that create outstanding guest experiences, places her as an industry thought leader. But she’s not all desk-top, she’s also hands-on with practical solutions, as well as full of creative ideas. Kate has always been a pleasure to work with and I look on with excitement to see Creative Hosts take shape and blossom.
“I can’t imagine anyone better than Kate to launch Creative Hosts. Her wealth of experience in glamping and boutique stays, combined with her extensive network of contacts, makes her perfectly placed to offer this invaluable service. Kate has been a fantastic contributor and friend to both the magazine and the wider industry over the years, always bringing insight, expertise, and innovation to everything she does. I have no doubt that Creative Hosts will be a huge success, and I wish her every success on this exciting new venture!"
I first met Kate at a short-stay accommodation exhibition in London in 2019, where she was exhibiting her glamping advisory services. As fortuitously both of our businesses were based near Glastonbury, we arranged for a paid advisory visit to Cossington Park to discuss tree houses, weddings and other projects. We then moved on to refurbishment projects of the two houses on my estate, Park House and Park Cottage which, due to the family connection (my family has owned the estate for 400 years) and historic nature of the properties and furnishings, required a sensitive approach. Kate produced comprehensive and sympathetic designs illustrated by mood boards, and sourced furnishings and fabrics, transforming both properties and enabling stunning photography to be undertaken. Over the four years that I worked with Kate, I greatly valued her broad experience of the quality self-catering sector and found her to be always thorough, creative and professional.
It is rare to come across someone in business like Kate. She is warm, likeable and extremely knowledgeable. We contacted Kate to discuss our initial ideas for a new business that will offer blacksmith and crafting experiences. There was an immediate rapport between us, and from the go she gave us so many leads, insights, ideas, and contacts. The advice was encouraging but realistic. You really believe she has a genuine interest in your business and she clearly loves what she does. She’s a key part of our project, and we can’t recommend her enough.
I worked alongside Kate when she joined TreeDwellers as Site Manager to support the pre-launch set up and opening phase of our sensational treehouses. Kate’s knowledge and experience were vital in those initial stages, whether it was behind- the-scenes logistics or styling bath ritual experience for incoming guests, her attention to detail was phenomenal. She not only styled the treehouses beautifully - including the design of on-brand Christmas decor - but also put systems in place, trained the team, and established the operational standards that still underpin the business today. Kate’s vision paid close attention to the guest-experience as well as efficiency and her ability to balance creativity with practical business sense gave TreeDwellers a strong foundation. Much of our unique and successful model is due to her invaluable work and ideas at its birth, and I’ve no doubt that Creative Hosts will prove to be an invaluable resource for many hospitality operators.
"I've designed Creative Hosts to unite, transform and inspire hosts to earn more and future-proof their business through experience-led hospitality.
